Experienced Representation In Business Litigation

Attorney Mick Lerner has more than 46 years of commercial litigation and business law experience. During the first half of his career, he tried cases at a major law firm in Kansas City, Missouri, before founding his own firm in 1995.

He has handled cases of all sizes and complexities, from one involving an alleged national price-fixing scheme, in which he dealt with over 30 law firms around the country, to individual personal injury claims, insurance claims and employment discrimination claims. In one of his most significant cases, Mr. Lerner drafted the lawsuit that resulted in the largest False Claims Act settlement in the history of that act.

A Lifetime Of Service And Recognition

Mr. Lerner was elected by his peers as the trustee from the Tenth Judicial Circuit to the national board of the American Inns of Court, where he served for two terms with some of the leading jurists and trial attorneys in America. He remains on the Advisory Council of that organization. He has also served as president of the local American Inn of Court in Overland Park.

Mr. Lerner is admitted to practice in the states of Missouri and Kansas, in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas, the 1st, 5th, 6th, 8th and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court. He has received a peer-reviewed AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Mr. Lerner is a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as an officer on the staff of the Commanding General of the 7th Infantry Division, in Korea. He received a B.A. degree from Stanford University and a J.D. degree from the Boston University School of Law, where he was an editor of the law review.
